Friends of Ostomates Worldwide – USA has decided to stop paying for individual product shipments. The rationale for this decision was that the cost of individual shipments was far exceeding the cost of bulk shipments (sent to ostomy support groups, hospitals and ostomy clinics) by a significant amount. If an individual makes a request, we ask that the requestor find a way to pay for the shipment. We suggest the following:
- Check with local hospitals, health care clinics, ostomy clinics, or ostomy nurses, and ostomy support groups, and see if they have supplies available to help you.
- If they do not, ask them if they would be willing to help you and accept a pallet of ostomy supplies that they can distribute to a large volume of people which would include supplies to meet the requestors’ (your) product needs. If one of the groups is willing to receive products for you, please provide us with the name and email address of the contact, and we will follow up to see if we can send them a pallet of supplies.Please look at the bottom of this document for locations in various countries that have received products in the past and who may be willing to help you. Please ONLY contact a group in the country where you live.
- Find individuals or groups in the USA, who could receive our donated supplies in your behalf, and then send them to you.
